Da Nang's VM medal features a 'turning bridge' design

The Da Nang VM 2025 medal simulates the turning motion of the Han River Bridge, featuring the iconic Dragon Bridge and the city's characteristic waves.

The medal design for the VnExpress Marathon Da Nang 2025 has been unveiled, showcasing unique features, sophisticated production technology, and local cultural inspiration. For the first time, a 360-degree rotating bridge image appears on the medal's surface, simulating the actual movement of the Han River turning bridge, a symbol of Da Nang's engineering and tourism.

At the center, the bridge's surface is embossed and painted with vibrant colors, symbolizing the dazzling LED light system at night. The flexible rotating motion on the medal enhances its aesthetic appeal and creates an interactive experience, emphasizing the "overcoming waves - crossing bridges" spirit of the athletes.

The top edge of the medal is engraved with two dragon heads facing each other, reminiscent of the Dragon Bridge, a modern landmark of Da Nang. The embossed dragon detail represents the strength and aspiration of the city along the Han River.

Below, the image of sea waves is recreated using 3D engraving techniques, creating a sense of motion. The sea and waves symbolize perseverance and continuous progress, essential characteristics of long-distance marathons. Surrounding the medal are sunbeam motifs and wavy lines, creating an overall dynamic movement like the rhythm of the ever-awakening city. The back of the medal continues to exploit the turning bridge image with a minimalist, modern design.

Upon its release, the unique medal design received widespread praise from the community. Most agreed that the "turning bridge" design accurately reflects the spirit and characteristics of the city.

"The medal is not just an honorary item, but also a milestone that preserves the journey of overcoming challenges and the conquering spirit of each athlete on the course that passes iconic bridges of the city," said a representative of the organizing committee.

The VnExpress Marathon Da Nang 2025 will take place on the morning of 20/7, with the route passing through many characteristic tourist attractions such as the Dragon Bridge, Thuan Phuoc Bridge, the Han River, and the Vo Nguyen Giap coastal route. This year, the finish line for the 42 km distance has been moved to Bien Dong Park to expand the cheering space and enhance the athlete experience.

In addition to the medal, the race jerseys and finisher shirts have a distinct "summer" feel with striking color combinations. Late registration is open until 3/7, with prices ranging from 850,000 to 1,550,000 VND depending on the distance. Readers can find news about the tournament here.
