Djokovic has not competed since Indian Wells in early 3/2026 due to injury, but will return to the tournament he has won six times. Djokovic, who reached the Australian Open final in 1/2026 and holds a 7-2 record this season, will begin his campaign in the second round against Marton Fucsovics or a qualifier. Nole shares his quarterfinal bracket with Lorenzo Musetti, Jiri Lehecka, and Casper Ruud.

Meanwhile, second seed Zverev, who recently lost to Jannik Sinner in the Madrid Open final, will face Daniel Altmaier or Zhang Zhizhen in his opening match. Alex de Minaur is a potential opponent for Zverev in the quarterfinals. The Australian player will start his tournament against Matteo Arnaldi or Jaume Munar, then is likely to rematch rising star Rafael Jodar in the third round, having surprisingly lost to the 19-year-old 3-6, 1-6 in Madrid.
World number one Sinner will begin his campaign at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in Foro Italico against Alex Michelsen or Sebastian Ofner. Sinner is currently on a 28-match winning streak at the Masters 1000 level.
In the third round, Sinner could have an early rematch with Jakub Mensik, one of only two players to defeat him in 2026. If he advances to the fourth round, Sinner is likely to meet Arthur Fils, who he easily defeated in the Madrid semifinals.
With a 30-2 record this season, Sinner aims to become the second player after Djokovic to win all nine Masters 1000 titles. Also in the Italian star's bracket are top 10 players such as Felix Auger-Aliassime, Ben Shelton, and Daniil Medvedev.
Auger-Aliassime could face Denis Shapovalov in his opening match, while rising star Joao Fonseca is a potential third-round opponent. Shelton will play a qualifier, and 2023 Rome champion Medvedev faces a challenging opener against Stefanos Tsitsipas or Tomas Machac.
The Rome Masters is the fifth ATP 1000 event of the season and the third on clay. It is also the final Masters tournament before players head to the Roland Garros Grand Slam. The Rome Masters main draw runs from 6-17/5.
