FPT Play to produce and broadcast PPA Asia 1000 in Hanoi

The PPA Asia 1000 - MB Hanoi Cup 2026, the first leg of the 2026 PPA Tour Asia, will be produced and broadcast live by FPT Play across its platforms.

In 2026, PPA Tour Asia plans to host ten tournaments, commencing in Hanoi (Vietnam), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), and Macao (China). The inaugural leg, named PPA Asia 1000 - MB Hanoi Cup 2026, is scheduled from 1 - 5/4 at My Dinh Athletics Palace. This event will feature the most PPA Pro players ever assembled in Asia. It also marks the third time PPA Tour Asia has been held in Vietnam, following two events in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang in 2025.

Similar to the two previous tournaments, FPT Play serves as the exclusive producer and co-exclusive broadcaster for the MB Hanoi Cup 2026. As part of its strategy to "rejuvenate" and diversify content, pickleball is a sport FPT Play is actively investing in. Previously, FPT Play exclusively broadcast four tournaments within the PPA Tour Asia system and co-organized the MB Vietnam Cup 2025. The MB Vietnam Cup 2025 was recognized by Guinness World Records for having the largest live audience for a pickleball tournament, with over 7,900 spectators.

This year, FPT Play plans to produce the MB Hanoi Cup 2026 with a standard of four to six cameras per match. The sharp image quality and interactive features will help convey the vibrant atmosphere as viewers follow the tournament via the FPT Play application on Smart TV, Smartphone, FPT Play Box, or through the website https://fptplay.vn, as well as FPT Play's social media channels.

The MB Hanoi Cup 2026 will feature Ben Johns, a player who has achieved almost absolute dominance in US titles. Johns has become familiar to local fans since participating in the MB Vietnam Cup in 2025. For this Hanoi event, Johns will partner with Gabriel Tardio in the Men's Doubles category. The champion, who boasts over 180 PPA gold medals, is eager to add more to his impressive collection. Other confirmed world-class stars include: Hayden Patriquin, Alix Truong, Federico Staksrud, Anna Bright, Dylan Frazier, Tyra Black, and many other PPA Pro players.

Commenting on the MB Hanoi Cup 2026, Kimberly Koh, Executive Director of UPA Asia, stated: "Bringing legends like Ben Johns and Anna Bright to Hanoi demonstrates pickleball's strong appeal in Asia. At PPA Tour Asia, our goal is always to deliver an international standard of competition and inspire local athletes. More than just a tournament, this is a celebration for the pickleball community, shaping the identity of PPA Tour Asia."

PPA Tour Asia features a three-tiered tournament structure—Slam, Cup, and Open events—with points earned contributing to the global PPA Rankings. Players pursue the coveted number one crown and qualification for the PPA Finals.

The year 2026 marks the first time PPA Tour Asia has unified its ranking point system with the Carvana PPA Tour. Athletes competing at the MB Hanoi Cup 2026 will earn direct points for the world rankings. The MB Hanoi Cup 2026 champion receives 1,000 points, the runner-up 800 points, third place 400 points, and fourth place 200 points. The total announced prize money is 300,000 USD, with the singles champion receiving 4,500 USD.
