Asia's largest sports event is scheduled to take place in Aichi - Nagoya, Japan, from 19/9 to 4/10. The Vietnamese delegation will comprise 498 members, including 348 athletes competing in key sports.
Before the delegation's departure, Herbalife, in coordination with the Vietnam Olympic Committee, organized a send-off ceremony for the Vietnamese sports delegation at the National Convention Center, Hanoi, on 9/9. The year 2026 marks the 15th year Herbalife has partnered with the Vietnam Olympic Committee. As part of this cooperation, the company continues to provide sports nutrition products and organize knowledge-sharing activities for athletes before, during, and after competitions.
The products supported at the Asian sports games include: Herbalife24 Rebuild Strength, Herbalife24 Hydrate orange flavor, Formula one sports nutrition vanilla cream flavor for special dietary needs, and N-R-G tea.
In addition to products, the knowledge-sharing sessions focus on hydration, recovery, nutrition management while traveling, and how to build suitable plans for each phase of physical activity.

Vu Van Thang, General Director of Herbalife Vietnam and Cambodia, emphasized that product support must be accompanied by knowledge, so athletes understand the purpose, timing, and proper usage. According to Thang, while nutrition does not replace training or technical expertise, it can be an integral part of preparation and recovery plans, especially with increasing intensity and competition schedules.
In high-performance sports, nutritional needs vary depending on the sport, exercise intensity, and physical condition. Endurance athletes have different requirements compared to those focusing on strength, combat sports, or weight management. Therefore, the approach to nutrition is shifting from merely ensuring "enough to eat" to "eating right," with plans calculated for each phase: before, during, and after physical activity.
This requirement becomes even more pronounced when athletes compete away from home. Changes in environment, travel schedules, meal times, and unfamiliar food sources can affect the maintenance of a stable nutritional regimen. According to Thang, a nutrition plan should be prepared and tested during the training phase, then adjusted based on each individual's actual response, rather than applying a general formula immediately upon entering a competition.

Recovery is also a critical link for athletes who compete continuously. After each training session or competition, the body needs rehydration, energy replenishment, and appropriate protein intake, combined with adequate sleep and controlled exercise load. Short breaks between competitions mean slow or insufficient recovery can impact an athlete's ability to maintain performance in subsequent events.
Tran Van Manh, Secretary General of the Vietnam Olympic Committee, highly values the long-term cooperation program with Herbalife, which provides additional support for athletes at many international tournaments.
"Beyond nutritional products, the consulting and knowledge-sharing programs also help athletes be more proactive in their physical and nutritional preparation," Manh stated.
