Hulk Hogan's will reveals family rift

Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan's will, leaving an estate of approximately $5 million, excludes his daughter Brooke, with whom he was reportedly estranged in his final years.

According to court documents filed by his 35-year-old son, Nick, Hogan amended his will 4 times, most recently in 2023. Nick is the sole inheritor, while Hogan's third wife, Melanie Sky Daily, is recognized as his surviving spouse.

In addition to real estate estimated at $11 million, likely placed in a trust, Hogan left about $799,000 in personal property and intellectual property rights, $200,000 in cryptocurrency, and image rights valued at around $4 million.

His wife, Daily, is considering legal action against the hospital, believing a neck surgery months before Hogan's death contributed to the heart attack that caused his passing.

Nick has also petitioned the court to appoint him and Terry McCoy as co-executors of the estate. He is also suing Hogan's former friend, Todd Clem (aka Bubba The Love Sponge), to prevent the release of a documentary related to the 2012 sex tape scandal.

Hogan previously sued Gawker Media for distributing the tape, initially winning $140 million, later reduced to $31 million after Gawker filed for bankruptcy.

Brooke Hogan, the 37-year-old daughter of the WWE legend, revealed she removed herself from the will in 2023 to avoid financial disputes. In an Instagram post after her father's death, she wrote, "My father and I never 'fought'. Those were just private calls that nobody knew about. But I felt him pulling away from my life".

Brooke disclosed that she and her father underwent nearly 25 surgeries together, but later he no longer wanted her around. She also expressed concerns about Hogan's relationship with Melanie Sky, particularly due to Sky's alleged connection to Scientology, a controversial group with a large center in Florida.

Brooke said she cried when she told McCoy, Hogan's financial manager, that she wanted to be removed from any inheritance. "If Sky is truly a Scientologist, I don’t want to be involved. I have nothing personally against her, but I don’t want to be in that tornado," she stated.

Hogan married model Linda Claridge in 1983. This was his longest marriage and coincided with the peak of his WWE and Hollywood career. They had two children: Brooke (born in 1988) and Nick (born in 1990). However, the marriage ended when Linda filed for divorce in 2007, accusing Hogan of infidelity.

In 2010, Hogan married Jennifer McDaniel, nearly 20 years his junior. They lived a more private life, rarely appearing together in public. This marriage lasted about 11 years before they quietly divorced in 2021.

In mid-2022, he publicly began dating Sky Daily, a yoga instructor, and they held a private wedding ceremony in Florida with a few close friends and family members. Hogan had no children from his subsequent marriages.

Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, died of a stroke at his home on 24/7 at age 71. He was one of the biggest icons in WWE history, with a career marked by both classic matches and off-stage scandals.

Among these, the 2012 sex tape scandal strained Hogan's friendship with Clem. Although Brooke revealed her father never believed Clem leaked the tape, the incident remained a point of contention between them.

After over four decades in the spotlight, Hogan leaves behind a legacy of both triumph and controversy, with family conflicts continuing to overshadow his passing. Compiled by Hong Duy.
