Benjamin Sesko continues to be a hot topic in the summer 2025 transfer market. After attracting interest from Arsenal and Liverpool, who ultimately signed Viktor Gyokeres and Hugo Ekitike respectively, the Leipzig forward is now the subject of a bidding war between Man Utd and Newcastle.

After weeks of expressing intent and awaiting Sesko's decision, Man Utd has submitted an official offer to the German club. Newcastle made a similar bid the day before, offering a minimum of $92 million with potential add-ons based on the 22-year-old's performance. Man Utd's initial offer is lower, at $86 million.
The decision now rests with Sesko. According to *The Athletic*, he is permitted to leave if a major club offers over $80 million. Therefore, Leipzig may not accept Newcastle's higher bid.
Sesko is reportedly leaning towards joining Man Utd. Man Utd's management is confident that Sesko has chosen them, leading to their official bid to Leipzig.
However, Newcastle has the advantage of playing in next season's Champions League. This is their second bid for Sesko after an initial $81 million offer was rejected. At Newcastle, Sesko would play alongside Alexander Isak.
Financially, Man Utd isn't required to sell Rasmus Hojlund to acquire Sesko. However, through inside sources, Man Utd has reportedly offered Hojlund for less than half his purchase price.
The 22-year-old Sesko, standing at 1.95 meters tall, scored 29 goals in 79 appearances for Salzburg in Austria. In the past two seasons with Leipzig, he has scored 39 goals in 87 games. During the same period, Hojlund has scored 26 goals in 95 appearances for Man Utd.
