Although Ratcliffe's meeting at the Carrington training center was pre-arranged, according to The Athletic, the team's poor form will undoubtedly be the main topic of discussion.
Amorim was appointed to replace Erik ten Hag in 11/2024 but has been unable to revive Man Utd. Last season, the "Red Devils" finished 15th, their worst finish in the Premier League era, and lost to Tottenham in the Europa League final, missing out on European competition.
Despite receiving over 214 million USD for summer signings, including notable additions Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo, Amorim's squad has had a disappointing start to the season. They have only one win in the first four Premier League rounds and were eliminated from the League Cup by fourth-tier Grimsby.

Under intense pressure, Amorim remains committed to his football philosophy and 3-4-3 system. "I accept the criticism, but I won't change. If the club wants a different style of play, they have to change the manager. I'll stick to my philosophy until I decide to change it," the Portuguese manager said after the 0-3 loss to Man City.
David Bentley, a former Tottenham midfielder from 2008-2013, believes Amorim is deliberately trying to get himself fired. Bentley compared Amorim to Juande Ramos, the former Tottenham manager who was sacked after just three months in the 2008-2009 season due to a string of poor results.
"I have the same feeling with Amorim as I did with Ramos back then," Bentley shared on talkSPORT. "At first, everything was positive and energetic. But then you see a change; he appears as if he doesn't care anymore, makes the players train in the evenings, and does strange things. As if he wants to be sacked."

According to British media, the Man Utd board maintains that they will not make hasty decisions and continue to have faith in Ruben Amorim. They believe Amorim's project is a long-term one and don't want to repeat the cycle of constantly changing managers over the past 12 years, since Alex Ferguson's retirement.
If Man Utd sacks Amorim before November, they will have to pay 16 million USD in compensation, as stipulated in the two-and-a-half-year contract they signed with him in 11/2024.
