At 17, Lammens caught Europe's attention during a 2019 UEFA Youth League group stage match between Club Brugge and Real Madrid.
In stoppage time, with his team trailing 1-2, the Belgian goalkeeper joined the attack in Real Madrid's penalty area. From a cross on the right wing, he made a diving header into the far corner, leveling the score at 2-2 and securing Club Brugge's advancement.
Club Brugge later lost to Rennes in a penalty shootout in the playoffs, while Real Madrid reached the final and defeated Benfica 3-2 to win their first title.
The moment Lammens joined the attack and scored with a header resurfaced on social media recently, surprising and exciting many Man Utd fans.
"So, he solves both the goalkeeping and attacking problems," one fan commented.
"Better than Man Utd's current goalkeepers, who only gift goals to the opponents," another wrote.
"Put Lammens and Harry Maguire up front for the last 10 minutes and see what happens," a fan joked.
With the $250 million attacking trio of Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo yet to meet expectations, Lammens's memorable goal has become a source of amusement for Man Utd fans.

Lammens played for Club Brugge's youth team from 2014 to 2020 before joining the first team from 2020 to 2023. He then played for Young Reds Antwerp and Royal Antwerp before being signed by Man Utd for a total of $30 million this summer. The Belgian goalkeeper signed a five-year contract and will wear the number 31 shirt, previously worn by Nemanja Matic, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Marouane Fellaini, and Darren Fletcher.
In his first interview with Man Utd, Lammens was also asked about his header against Real Madrid. "I don't know if everyone knows," the 23-year-old said. "It was quite a while ago. But for me, it was like a dream come true, to be able to help the team in the final minutes. It's also a very nice memory."
Lammens arrived at Old Trafford on the last day of the summer transfer window and is expected to compete for the starting spot, as neither Altay Bayindir nor Andre Onana have fully convinced manager Ruben Amorim.
