Former US President Donald Trump is reportedly planning to transform the South Lawn of the White House into a UFC arena to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. UFC President Dana White, a longtime Trump supporter, has made several trips to Washington to prepare for the event.

McGregor, who hasn't fought since his loss to Dustin Poirier in July 2021, confirmed he's the centerpiece of this event. "100 million USD to fight at the White House, along with 100 golden visas for family and friends," the Irish fighter wrote on X. "I look forward to electrifying the world of martial arts once again."
Golden visas, long-term residency permits typically costing around 1 million USD each, are reportedly part of the deal offered by Trump, according to McGregor.
At 37, McGregor has been actively posting training videos on social media, declaring his imminent return to the octagon and even expressing his willingness to fight bare-knuckle. White also confirmed, "The White House fight is set. McGregor wants this fight and sees it as his comeback motivation."

The plan reportedly allows for about 5,000 spectators inside a temporary arena, with outdoor viewing areas for up to 85,000 people. AI-generated images depict the White House illuminated in American flag colors, an octagon centered on the stage, fireworks, and a massive canopy.
Press conferences and weigh-ins are expected to take place at the Lincoln Memorial. On social media, many are calling it "the spectacle of our time," surpassing even events like the Super Bowl or the World Cup.
For McGregor, this is an opportunity to reaffirm his status after 4 years away from the octagon. "If you're at McGregor's level, you need something big to motivate you," White emphasized. "And this White House fight does just that."

Trump's decision to host a UFC event at the White House may have political implications. It could reinforce his image as a "man of the people," connecting with young American male voters, a key UFC demographic and a strong base of support in previous elections.
Additionally, the UFC, with its intense and uncompromising nature, reflects the image Trump aims to project: a leader willing to fight for his beliefs. Holding the event on the 250th anniversary of Independence Day further links the message of American strength to him personally.
This combination allows Trump to reach not just sports fans, but also to make the White House a center of both entertainment and politics, something few presidents have achieved.
