A video of McGregor's recent training session circulated on social media, showing the former UFC champion relentlessly pressuring his sparring partners and delivering powerful blows.
Many on X criticized McGregor's training style. "Still an embarrassing display. He's a shadow of his former self," one user commented. Another harshly stated, "Sparring with 12-year-olds, pathetic."
However, some fans defended the Irish fighter, arguing that it was a valuable opportunity for the young fighters to gain real-world experience. "McGregor is helping them grow," one commenter wrote. Another added, "McGregor is a good teacher because no one in the octagon will go easy on them."

Last month, McGregor re-entered the UFC's random drug testing program, testing negative and moving closer to a comeback. The 37-year-old hasn't competed professionally since breaking his ankle and losing to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021. He had announced a return against Michael Chandler in Las Vegas on 29/6/2024, but the fight never materialized.
Recently, McGregor has been in the news for several controversies. He spat in the face of a man who expressed support for rival Khabib Nurmagomedov, was accused of sexually harassing a famous rapper, and was seen with a woman other than his partner while celebrating his 37th birthday.
The Irish fighter also lost a sexual assault civil suit related to the alleged rape of Nikita Hand in 2018 and was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a restroom after the NBA Finals in Miami in June 2023.

McGregor holds a record of 22 wins and six losses. He has held the UFC featherweight and lightweight titles and was the first UFC fighter to hold championships in two weight classes simultaneously.
He is considered the UFC's biggest pay-per-view draw, featuring in five of the highest-grossing events. In 2021, Forbes ranked the 37-year-old as the world's highest-paid athlete, earning $180 million. He also appeared on the list in 2018, ranking fourth with $99 million.
While McGregor's career is synonymous with MMA, his fight against Floyd Mayweather in August 2017 elevated him to superstardom. Despite losing to the American boxer, McGregor earned $100 million from the spectacle.
