Following the design concept of the VnExpress Marathon Hanoi Midnight 2022 medal, the Ho Chi Minh City Night Run 2026 features a rectangular design with serrated edges, mimicking a postage stamp. The organizing committee states this symbolizes each runner's journey as a message connecting the past and present.

The medal distinctly depicts two iconic Ho Chi Minh City landmarks: the Central Post Office and the Bitexco Financial Tower. These structures are embossed against a purple background, symbolizing the night, and an orange-yellow moon. A silver tone dominates the medal's design.
The organizing committee explained that the Ho Chi Minh City Post Office symbolizes historical depth, while the Bitexco tower represents modern, dynamic life and ambition. This pairing creates an intersection where urban memories and contemporary life coexist in a unified design.
A representative from the organizing committee stated, "During the Ho Chi Minh City night run, each runner's stride seems to glide through the city's layers of time, from decades-old structures to symbols rising with modern life. We want this year's medal to be a symphony of time, capturing the intersection of past and present within a single night's rhythm."
Launched in 2023, the VnExpress Marathon Ho Chi Minh City Midnight quickly became Vietnam's largest night run, attracting 11,000 participants in 2023 and 2024. Last year, this number grew to 12,000 and is expected to increase further this year. Runners will start at midnight in the city center, exploring iconic landmarks like Tao Dan Park, Independence Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, and Nguyen Hue walking street.
A representative from the organizing committee shared, "This is a tribute to runners who complete the race, so each runner holding a medal can take home a complete record of Ho Chi Minh City at night."
This year's VnExpress Marathon Ho Chi Minh City Midnight is scheduled for 22/3. Occurring after Tet Nguyen Dan (Lunar New Year), it offers the community an early-year gathering and kicks off a new racing season. Interested runners can register here.
