The tournament, scheduled from 30/8 to 6/9, is expected to attract over 4,000 athletes from 80 countries and territories. Matches will take place at Tien Son Sports Palace, Tuyen Son Sports Village, and various central courts.
This year's event features two main categories: National and Individual. The National category includes five events: Open, Kids, Junior, Senior, and Master. The Individual category allows registration based on age and DUPR rating, a leading and widely recognized global pickleball rating system.
Vietnam is recognized as one of the fastest-developing pickleball nations in Southeast Asia and Asia. In recent years, the country has hosted major tournaments, including the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour Asia, the World Pickleball Championship (WPC) Series - Asia Pacific, and the Asian Open Junior Pickleball Championships 2024.
Da Nang's role as host for the Pickleball World Cup 2026 marks a new milestone in the sport's development in Vietnam. It also helps bring Asian pickleball closer to global-scale sporting events.
FPT Play is co-organizing the event with America & Asia Link Co., Ltd. and the Da Nang Pickleball Federation. FPT Play also holds exclusive live broadcast rights for the PPA Tour Asia 2026, a series of tournaments within the system. By securing these major tournaments, FPT Play aims to expand its content reach, complete its pickleball ecosystem, and strengthen its position in sports broadcasting. All pickleball tournaments will be broadcast live and exclusively on FPT Play applications for SmartTV, SmartMobile, FPT Play box, and on the website fptplay.vn.
