Accuweather forecasts that on 30/4, when pre-race activities and exchanges occur, the highest temperature will be about 35 degrees Celsius, while the lowest in the early morning will be around 26-27 degrees Celsius. The probability of rain that day is 58%, with a total rainfall of about 5,8 mm and approximately 4 hours of rain. There is a 35% chance of thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon.
On 1/5, temperatures are expected to slightly decrease to about 32 degrees Celsius, but the perceived temperature will remain around 38 degrees Celsius due to high humidity. The probability of rain increases to 65%, with rainfall of about 7,2 mm and cloud cover generally above 80%.
This means the VnExpress Marathon Green Paradise Can Gio will likely experience a combination of heat and short-term thunderstorms. Participants may start in hot and humid early morning conditions but should prepare for potential rain if the race is prolonged or if they engage in outdoor activities throughout the day.

A part of the race course runs through the Rung Sac route, an area within the Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve, promising a comfortable experience for athletes. The dense mangrove ecosystem reduces heat radiation, maintains stable humidity, and moderates temperatures compared to urban areas. Studies indicate that temperatures within the forest can be 2-4 degrees Celsius lower than outside, with air richer in oxygen and fewer fine dust particles, creating a pleasant sensation during extended physical activity.
Notably, the Rung Sac route, continuously flanked by green foliage, helps mitigate direct sun exposure in the morning. However, in coastal sections or open areas, athletes will still be subject to temperatures and sea breezes, requiring judicious energy management.
To prepare for these conditions, runners should prioritize well-worn shoes with good grip in case of wet surfaces after rain. In the initial kilometers, maintaining a steady pace is crucial, avoiding sudden acceleration before the body adapts to high temperatures and humidity. On turns or painted lines, athletes should avoid sharp changes in direction to reduce the risk of slipping.

Regarding attire, thin, light, breathable, and sweat-wicking clothing is preferred. A cap or visor can assist in both sunny and light rain conditions, helping maintain stable visibility throughout the race.
Furthermore, high humidity hinders sweat evaporation, reducing the body's cooling efficiency and potentially causing insidious fatigue. Athletes should hydrate and replenish electrolytes early and consistently at aid stations rather than waiting until they feel thirsty.
Along the entire course, organizers plan to set up aid stations approximately every 2 km, combined with medical support points, to ensure athlete safety in hot weather conditions.
Taking place during the 30/4 - 1/5 holiday, the VnExpress Marathon Green Paradise Can Gio is a prominent coastal race in TP HCM, attracting about 5,000 domestic and international runners. The course, combining mangrove forests and coastal sections, not only presents a physical challenge but also offers a unique experience. Participants can compete while enjoying a rare, fresh ecological environment close to a major city. During this event, athletes also have the opportunity to savor local cuisine, attend music festivals, and watch celebratory fireworks right in the event area.
