The race is scheduled for 19/4. Following two weeks of the Super Early Bird ticket phase, offering the most favorable rates, organizers reported over 2,400 athletes registered for the 21km distance, accounting for about 40% of total registrations. The 5km distance attracted approximately 2,250 runners, while the 10km distance saw 1,350 participants. The event will also feature nearly 100 international runners from 30 countries, including England, Russia, and Germany.

About half of the 6,000 early registered runners are from Hue, the host city, followed by those from neighboring provinces and cities like Da Nang and Quang Tri. This strong regional participation forms a large network of runners from the central region.

Despite the 42km distance being temporarily suspended, super early bird registrations still reached 50% of last year's total participation, demonstrating the event's sustained appeal. According to a representative from the organizing committee, "Recording 6,000 registered runners after only two weeks of sales is a positive sign, reflecting the enthusiastic response from runners to one of the most traditional running events in the Central region."

This year, VnExpress Marathon Hue has adjusted its distances, focusing on the 21km and shorter races. This means the entire route will be within the unique cultural and historical space of the ancient capital. This adjustment facilitates organization and safety efforts, while also providing a seamless experience for participants.

After the Super Early Bird phase concludes, the event will transition to the Early Bird phase, with fees set at 480,000 VND for 5km, 620,000 VND for 10km, and 850,000 VND for 21km. Group registrations will receive additional discounts ranging from 5% to 25%, depending on the group size. Registration closes on 9/4.

Since its debut in Hue in 2020, VnExpress Marathon has made its mark with running routes through heritage spaces. Runners can stride through Kinh Thanh Hue, Cau Truong Tien, Nghenh Luong Dinh, Phu Van Lau, and tree-lined central streets. With an early morning start time, athletes also have the opportunity to witness the sunrise over Hue, as the first light gradually bathes the Perfume River and ancient structures.
