Coming from an athletic family—his father a former pole vaulter and his mother a former heptathlete—Duplantis seemed born to reach great heights. But beyond his illustrious career, fans are also interested in his partner, model and content creator Desire Inglander.

The two met at a summer party in 2020 in Stockholm, Sweden. Duplantis was immediately captivated by Inglander, but she largely ignored him.
"In Sweden, people flirt very differently; they talk a lot," Duplantis told Vogue Scandinavia. "I just went up and said, 'Hi, I'm Mondo', but Inglander wasn't interested, she just wanted to dance."
After that day, they started chatting via Snapchat, and feelings gradually developed. Duplantis asked her out several times but was rejected. At the time, Inglander was 19, had never been on a formal date, and was apprehensive about speaking English. Eventually, she accepted, starting their relationship.

Since then, Inglander has been a constant presence in the stands, enthusiastically cheering for her boyfriend. She frequently shares their happy moments on Instagram and is considered a significant source of inspiration in Duplantis's career.
The couple now lives together in an apartment on Kungsholmen island in Stockholm, near Duplantis's family. Although he primarily trains in his hometown of Louisiana, USA, he admits he's grown to love life in Sweden.
"Stockholm is much more beautiful than Louisiana. After every competition, it's great to come back, escape the pressure, and just be me and Inglander. She's the ideal partner," the 25-year-old athlete shared.
Inglander studied content marketing at Berghs School of Communication, a leading communications and creative school in Stockholm. The 24-year-old is planning to start her own company. She's not only a pillar of support, bringing balance to "pole vault king" Duplantis's life, but also a model of a modern, independent woman who balances her career and love life.
Duplantis is currently the biggest star in men's pole vault. He has broken the world record 14 times, most recently clearing 6.30 m at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan.
This is Duplantis's third consecutive outdoor world title, following Oregon 2022 and Budapest 2023. The Swedish star has also won two Olympic gold medals (2020 and 2024), two outdoor world championships (2022 and 2023), two indoor world championships, and is the reigning European and Diamond League champion.
