Indonesian shooter Dewi Laila Mubarokah secured two gold medals at the 33rd SEA Games in Bangkok, Thailand. On 13/12, at the Photharam shooting range, Dewi, with teammates Dominique Rachmawati Karini and Yasmin Figlia Achadiat, won gold in the women's 10m air rifle team event.
A few hours later, the 28-year-old shooter continued her success in the 10m air rifle individual event. With a relaxed mindset and familiar control of her shooting rhythm, Dewi overcame opponents from Thailand and Singapore to claim victory, completing a double gold medal haul.

News of Dewi's four-month pregnancy emerged only after she completed her events, surprising experts and fans. Throughout her preparation and competition, Dewi kept this information private, sharing it only with close family, her medical team, and coaching staff.
Prior to the Games, Dewi had not set high expectations for gold medals, acknowledging her physical condition was not at its best compared to previous tournaments. The organizing committee confirmed Dewi underwent thorough health checks and participated only in suitable events, ensuring safety for both mother and fetus.
Speaking to Indonesian media, Dewi admitted that competing while pregnant necessitated changes to her training habits, including shooting intensity and rest regimens. "I cannot train as intensely as before, but shooting demands stability and focus. I try to stay relaxed and not put pressure on myself", Dewi said after her wins.
In the stands, Dewi's husband, shooter Fathur Gustafian, watched every shot with a mix of anticipation and pride. He stated this achievement held significance, not only for the medals but also as a testament to his wife's resilience and love for the sport.
Dewi is not unfamiliar to Southeast Asian shooting; she won gold at the 30th SEA Games in Vietnam and has represented the Indonesian national team in continental competitions. However, this double gold at the 33rd SEA Games marks a memorable milestone in her career, given the rare circumstances of competing in elite sports while pregnant.
