Ronaldo opened the scoring in the 41st minute from the penalty spot after midfielder Ayman Yahya's cross struck defender Ali Majrashi's hand in the Al Ahli box. Ronaldo confidently slotted the penalty down the middle while goalkeeper Edouard Mendy dived to his right. This was Ronaldo's 100th goal for Al Nassr in 113 appearances across all competitions.

Al Ahli equalized 10 minutes later thanks to former Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie. Al Nassr took the lead once again in the 82nd minute through midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, but 7 minutes later, Al Ahli leveled the score with a header from center-back Roger Ibanez.

Ultimately, the match was decided by a penalty shootout, where Al Ahli emerged victorious with a 5-3 scoreline, despite Ronaldo converting his spot-kick.
