"I feel sorry for Sesko. He's turned into another Hojlund," one Man Utd fan wrote on X after the Manchester derby on 14/9.
Many fans believe Sesko is facing the same issue as Hojlund: a lack of support from teammates. They argue that the USD 99 million signing will suffer the same fate as the striker who recently moved to Napoli unless something changes.
"Do you still think Hojlund was the problem? Look at Sesko. He did his job whenever he had the ball, but what about the support from the team around him?" another fan questioned.

At Etihad Stadium, Sesko only touched the ball 20 times in 80 minutes of play, all outside Man City's penalty area. The USD 99 million signing managed just one shot, easily saved by goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Sesko also struggled in duels, winning only three of nine, and completed just eight of 14 passes.
Despite being deployed as the lone striker by manager Ruben Amorim, Sesko often had to drop back to the center circle. The three wingers, Amad Diallo, Bryan Mbeumo, and Patrick Dorgu, frequently played higher up the pitch than the center forward.
Sesko has yet to score in five appearances for Man Utd, including four Premier League matches. He previously scored 39 goals in 87 games for Leipzig and 29 goals in 79 games for Salzburg.
When asked about the new signing's disappointing start, manager Amorim said: "He's playing in the strongest national championship in the world. We can help him reach his full potential, but it takes time."
Hojlund scored 10 goals in 34 matches for Atalanta before joining Man Utd in 2023 for USD 87 million. However, in the past two seasons, the 22-year-old Danish striker only scored 26 goals in 95 games for Man Utd.
In early September, Hojlund joined Napoli on loan with an option to buy. He scored on his debut, helping the reigning Serie A champions beat Fiorentina 3-1.
Following the loss to Man City, many Man Utd fans also criticized Manuel Ugarte and Luke Shaw for their defensive lapses, allowing Jeremy Doku to break through for the first goal and showing a lack of intensity for the second. They urged the Red Devils to bench both players and consider selling them soon.
"Ugarte and Shaw are a disgrace," one fan wrote. "I hope Amorim doesn't let Ugarte on the field again."
Another wrote: "I don't understand how Shaw is still playing. Maybe he's only starting because he's left-footed."
In the 18th minute, Doku beat both Shaw and Ugarte before crossing for Phil Foden to head in the opening goal. Man Utd tried to respond but conceded a second goal in the 53rd minute. Haaland outpaced Shaw and chipped the ball over goalkeeper Altay Bayındır. Man Utd's third goal came from a counterattack where Haaland ran half the length of the pitch before slotting the ball into the far corner.
With four points from four games, Man Utd has dropped to 14th place.
