The men's 10m air pistol is the second event Pham Quang Huy has competed in at this World Cup. Yesterday, he and Trinh Thu Vinh competed in the 10m air pistol mixed team event.
The pairs shot three series. Each person fired 10 shots per series, and the scores were combined. Vinh and Huy achieved 578 points, one point higher than their gold medal-winning performance at the Asian Cup in February. However, this score only placed them fifth, two points behind the Hungarian pair of Major Veronika and Nagy Karoly, causing them to miss the bronze medal match.
The gold medal in this event went to Hu Kai and Yao Qianxun of China. The silver medal went to Veronika and Jindrich of the Czech Republic, while Hungary took the bronze.
Quang Huy will also participate in another event, the men's 25m rapid fire pistol, on the 12th and 13th of September. Meanwhile, Thu Vinh will compete in the women's 25m pistol on September 11th. Two days later, she will continue to compete in the women's 10m air pistol.
In addition to Vinh and Huy, Vietnam also has Le Thi Mong Tuyen competing in the women's rifle events. Four other shooters are Ha Minh Thanh, Nguyen Tam Quang, Tran Cong Hieu, and Lai Cong Minh.
In 2025, the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) is organizing five World Cup stages in Argentina, Peru (April), Cyprus (May), Germany (June), Italy (July), and China (September). Argentina, Peru, Germany, and China are hosting pistol and rifle events. The other two locations are hosting shotgun events. In December, the World Cup final will be held in Qatar, featuring all three types of firearms.
The 2025 Shooting World Cup in China is being held in Ningbo city from September 7th to 15th. The competition brings together 320 shooters from over 40 teams.
