"We always stand by and support mothers, no matter what," Sinner's team announced regarding the decision to end partnership talks with Astronomer. The company's CEO, Andy Byron, was seen with subordinate Kristin Cabot at a Coldplay concert on 16/7. A video of the pair from the "kiss cam" subsequently went viral on social media, leading to Byron's resignation.
Sinner had not officially signed with Astronomer, but was reportedly close to a 24 million USD deal to promote the company's products. The deal was presented by Byron himself before the affair came to light. Astronomer is a technology company pioneering several fields in data management. It has been one of the fastest-growing companies in the industry in recent years.
After stepping away from the Astronomer deal, Sinner also announced the return of fitness coach Umberto Ferrara, who was dismissed last year after Sinner's doping violation. "Ferrara has played an important role in Sinner's development over the years. His return will contribute to the continuity and high performance we aim for," a statement from Sinner's team said.
Ferrara had been Sinner's fitness coach since 2022. After leaving the team last year, he worked with former Wimbledon finalist Matteo Berrettini. Sinner said he consulted with his entire team before inviting Ferrara back. The world number one wants to be in top physical condition for the final hard-court season of the year, where he will defend his US Open and ATP Finals titles.

Sinner is having a successful year despite a three-month suspension for doping. He reached the finals of all three Grand Slams so far this year, winning the Australian Open and Wimbledon. His victory over Carlos Alcaraz at Wimbledon demonstrated the versatility of his game on his traditionally weakest surface. He also nearly defeated his Spanish rival at Roland Garros, on Alcaraz's preferred clay surface.
"We want to have the best possible second half of the season," coach Darren Cahill said about the team's goals for the remaining months. "Hard courts have always been Sinner's strength, but they can also be unpredictable. If you're not thoroughly prepared, you'll pay the price."
