At the start of the London derby, coach Frank had Tottenham play in a 5-4-1 formation, but this did not prevent goals. From the 36th to the 41st minute, Leandro Trossard and Eberechi Eze scored two consecutive goals for Arsenal. After halftime, Frank changed the formation, but the situation did not improve. Eze scored two more goals for the home team in the 46th and 76th minutes.
Tottenham managed only one goal, a lob from near midfield by Richarlison. This was one of only two instances where they had a shot on target against Arsenal in the match, while Arsenal had 8.

After the match, Frank defended his formation choices, stating Tottenham's heavy loss was due to players lacking fighting spirit, challenges, and insufficient pressure. "Whatever system you play, you can succeed", he said. "I started with a 5-4-1 formation, then changed at halftime, but they made it 3-0 in the first minute of the second half. Even with a different system, we still needed to be more aggressive in challenges".
Following his appointment this summer, Frank had a decent start with Tottenham. He previously led the team to 2nd place with five wins, two draws, and only two losses in the first nine rounds. However, in their last three matches, "The Roosters" have had poor results, losing 0-1 to Chelsea, drawing 2-2 with Man Utd at home, and then suffering a heavy defeat at Arsenal. Tottenham has now dropped to 9th place with 18 points, level on points with Man Utd but having played one more game.
Frank admitted Tottenham played poorly against Arsenal and Chelsea. Regarding the draw with Man Utd, he expressed regret over conceding an equalizer in the 90+6th minute. "I need to apologize to the fans and will always take responsibility", Frank added. "We still have a lot to improve".
Before joining Tottenham to replace Ange Postecoglou, Frank managed Brentford for seven years. The 52-year-old Danish coach gained recognition for helping his team rise from the Championship and consistently maintain their league status.
