On 19/9, the qualifying round of the Predator WPA Men’s 10-Ball World Championship concluded at the Military Zone 7 Stadium in TP HCM, identifying the 16 players who will compete in the final round.

In the winners' bracket, Nguyen Van Huynh defeated Ho So Phat 2-0, earning a direct ticket to the finals. Meanwhile, in the losers' bracket, another Vietnamese player, Nguyen Bao Chau, also secured a spot in the finals by defeating fellow countryman Nguyen Dang Tuyen 2-0.
With these results, Vietnam will have 4 representatives competing in the final round: Duong Quoc Hoang, Pham Phuong Nam, Nguyen Van Huynh, and Nguyen Bao Chau.
On the other hand, several highly anticipated Vietnamese players, including Nguyen Van Dang, Luong Chi Dung, and Nguyen Anh Tuan, were eliminated by top-ranked players from Germany, Taiwan, and China.
The 16 players who advanced from the qualifying round are: AJ Manas, Gamas Edwin, Jeffrey Prieto, Jonas Magpantay, Lin Ta Li, Liu Ri Teng, Mark Estiola, Michael Feliciano, Moritz Neuhausen, Nguyen Bao Chau, Nguyen Van Huynh, Raymund Faraon, Sun Yi Hsuan, Wang Ming, Yukio Akagariyama, and Zhu Xihe.
The tournament brings together 96 top players from around the world, including prominent names like reigning champion Carlo Biado, Fedor Gorst, Joshua Filler, Shane Van Boening, Eklent Kaci, Ko Pin Yi, and Ko Ping Chung. The final round begins tonight and concludes on 28/9.

In the Box Billiards Mixed Doubles Open, the highly anticipated home team pair of Duong Quoc Hoang and Bui Xuan Vang struggled on the first day, falling into the losers' bracket, and continued to underperform on the second day. They lost to the Taiwanese pair Hsu Jui An and Chou Chia Chia 0-2 in the third round and were eliminated.
The total prize money for the series of events is 425,000 USD (approximately 11.2 billion VND), with the prize money for the 2025 Men's 10-ball tournament alone being 250,000 USD (nearly 7 billion VND). The world champion will receive 70,000 USD (1.8 billion VND), while the runner-up will receive 40,000 USD. The two third-place finishers will each receive 17,500 USD.
The tournament is co-organized by Box Billiards, Predator, and the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards & Snooker Federation (HBSF).
