CTBC Flying Oyster (CFO) secured their spot in the Da Nang finals with a perfect 20-0 record, culminating in a 2-1 comeback victory against Vietnam's Team Secret Whales (TSW). PSG Talon, a veteran Taiwanese esports organization, had a more challenging route. After dropping to the lower bracket, they fought their way through multiple opponents before facing GAM Esports for the final qualifying spot. Despite being considered the underdogs, PSG Talon delivered a decisive 2-0 win.

The presence of CFO and PSG Talon promises fans a chance to see some of Asia's top League of Legends (LoL) stars in Da Nang next week.
PSG Talon's current roster boasts mid-laner Maple (Huang Yi-Tang), a 12-year veteran who has played for top teams like Flash Wolves (Taiwan), Suning (China), LNG (China), and Team SoloMid (North America). Known for his exceptional skill, Maple often plays short-range assassins like Fizz and Akali. After a brief retirement in 2024, he returned to the professional scene at PSG Talon's invitation.
Maple is joined by longtime teammates like Karsa, Betty, Woody, and Azhi. Karsa, in particular, shares a similar history with Maple, having played for top Chinese teams like RNG, Top Esports, and Weibo. This shared experience creates a cohesive and deeply connected PSG Talon squad. While they may have encountered some bumps during the qualifying rounds, their experience and resilience shine through in decisive matches, making them a formidable opponent.
CFO is currently considered the strongest LoL team in the Asia Pacific region. Since the inception of the LCP, which combined the VCS (Vietnam), PCS (Taiwan), and LJL (Japan), they have dominated the competition with a 20-game winning streak, claiming victory in both the LCP 2025 Season Kickoff and the LCP 2025 Mid-Season.
Their dominance extends beyond the regional stage. At the 2025 First Stand earlier this year, CFO made a significant impact by defeating powerhouse teams like Top Esports (China), Karmine Corp (Europe), and Team Liquid (North America).

CFO's strength stems from two key players: veteran jungler JunJia and prodigy mid-laner HongQ. JunJia, with his extensive international experience, serves as the team's strategic mind. Meanwhile, 17-year-old HongQ has become a phenomenon, showcasing exceptional individual skill and a diverse champion pool. He often proves to be the game-changer in crucial moments.
CFO's playstyle is built on ironclad discipline, near-perfect teamwork, and tight game control. They play consistently, rarely make mistakes, and capitalize on opponent errors ruthlessly.
On 13/9, an inter-regional showdown between PSG Talon and CFO will determine the first team to advance to the LCP 2025 grand finals. The losing team will face a Vietnamese team from the lower bracket, which includes GAM, TSW, and MVKE.
The League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP 2025) is the largest League of Legends tournament held in Da Nang, bringing together top teams from the Asia-Pacific region. Launched in 2025 by Riot Games and Carry International, the inaugural season replaced the VCS (Vietnam), PCS (Taipei), and LJL (Japan), featuring eight top teams from Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, and Australia.
The Finals Weekend will take place at Tien Son Sports Palace on 20/9-21/9. Tickets for the LCP 2025 finals are currently on sale, with both single-day and two-day combo options available, along with various accompanying promotions. In addition to the competition, LCP 2025 will also host a cosplay contest and player meet-and-greets.
