"We need to get back to the urgency of winning the next game," Amorim said after the victory at Old Trafford. "At a big club, you can't just think about winning today and then resting. The joy must be put aside to focus immediately on Brentford next weekend."

Man Utd experienced an emotional match. The home team had an early advantage when goalkeeper Robert Sanchez received a straight red card in the 5th minute for a dangerous foul on Bryan Mbeumo just outside the penalty area. Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro then scored to give Man Utd a 2-0 lead.
In first-half stoppage time, Casemiro received a second yellow card, turning the tide of the game. Chelsea pushed forward strongly in the second half and narrowed the gap thanks to Trevoh Chalobah. But Man Utd defended resolutely to keep all three points in Manchester.
Amorim was pleased with the win, but also frankly acknowledged his players' responsibility. He analyzed: "We started very aggressively, pressing constantly and creating many 3-on-1, 3-on-2 situations. But Casemiro has enough experience to know he shouldn't make such a foul. He understands that, and I know Casemiro is even more upset than I am. We won, but clearly things became unnecessarily complicated."
This victory helped Man Utd climb into the top half of the table, easing the pressure after their worst Premier League start in 33 years. But Amorim emphasized that this is just the beginning and sent a message to his players about their fighting spirit. "The fans here are easy to please; you just need to run, fight, compete. Today they were with us, and that's what the players need to understand," the Portuguese manager said.
Before the match, two former players Gary Neville and Roy Keane warned that another defeat would raise further doubts about Amorim's future. The 40-year-old coach responded with humor: "Most of the criticism is correct, I have nothing to say. But today we won, and that's the most important thing."

Fernandes was the most outstanding player of the match and left a special mark with his 100th goal for Man Utd. "Every three points are precious at the moment because we didn't start the season as we wanted," the Portuguese midfielder said. "Every game is important."
In the next two rounds, Man Utd will visit Brentford on 27/9 and then face newcomers Sunderland at Old Trafford on 27/9 before the international break.
