Following the vote count, the organizing committee announced the top 5 players competing for the Golden, Silver, and Bronze Balls: Nguyen Tien Linh, Nguyen Hoang Duc, Nguyen Quang Hai, Nguyen Dinh Bac, and Tran Trung Kien. According to VnExpress, the three players with the highest votes making it to the top 3 are Hoang Duc, Dinh Bac, and Quang Hai.
Dinh Bac had a strong performance, contributing significantly to U23 Vietnam's U23 Southeast Asian Championship victory. The Nghe An-born forward recently continued to be an inspiration, helping U22 Vietnam secure a gold medal at SEA Games 33.
Hoang Duc – winner of the 2021 and 2023 Golden Balls – also achieved much success in 2025. He and Ninh Binh achieved a 36-match unbeaten streak in the First Division, V-League, and National Cup. The midfielder played in 33 of those 36 matches, contributing many goals and assists.
Compared to his two colleagues, Quang Hai had a solid year for Hanoi Police FC and the Vietnam national team, though he did not reach peak form.
Hoang Duc and his family are in TP HCM to attend the awards gala. However, Dinh Bac is absent. This morning, the forward departed with the U23 Vietnam team for Qatar to prepare for the U23 Asian Championship finals.
In the women's Golden Ball category, the organizing committee announced the 5 shortlisted names: Huynh Nhu, Pham Hai Yen, Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy, Ngan Thi Van Su, and Tran Thi Thuy Trang. Among these, the three players with the highest votes competing for the Golden, Silver, and Bronze Balls are Thuy Trang, Bich Thuy, and Hai Yen.
The Vietnam Golden Ball, organized by Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper, is endorsed by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and awarded annually. It was first presented in 1995 to forward Le Huynh Duc. The award is inspired by France Football magazine's Ballon d'Or, also voted on by journalists and experts.
To ensure objectivity and fairness, the organizing committee initiated the voting process in early 11/2025. Ballots were sent to an expert council including: sports leaders, coaches, club captains, and experienced sports journalists.
Scores are calculated based on a system: Gold (3 points), Silver (2 points), and Bronze (1 point). All ballots were collected and independently audited on 21/12 to determine the deserving winners for tonight's ceremony.
