On 26/9, the Vietnamese sports delegation will continue to compete in archery, shooting, badminton, canoeing, fencing, boxing, handball, and athletics. Events will commence early in the morning, with several medal opportunities concentrated in canoeing and athletics.

Canoeing remains a key hope for Vietnam, following its historic bronze medal on 25/9. At 8h Hanoi time, Vu Le Thien Hai will compete in the men's kayak single (K1) 500 m semifinals. An hour and a half later, Hoang Thi Huong will enter the women's kayak single (K1) 500 m A final.

At 9h50, Hien Nam and Nguyen Hong Thai will compete in the mixed canoe double (C2) 500 m A final. This means canoeing will feature three consecutive events from semifinals to finals on the morning of 26/9.

Badminton also begins at 7h30 with three events. Nguyen Thuy Linh faces an Indonesian opponent in the women's singles qualifiers, while Nguyen Hai Dang competes against an athlete from Tajikistan in the men's singles qualifiers. Simultaneously, Nguyen Dinh Hoang and Tran Dinh Manh will play against Bangladesh in the men's doubles round of 1/8.

In fencing, the Vietnamese men's sabre team, comprising Nguyen Van Quyet, Nguyen Xuan Loi, and Le Van Bang, will face Uzbekistan in the round of 1/8 at 8h30.

The Vietnamese women's handball team will play a qualifying match against South Korea at 15h30. This is the team's sole match on 26/9.

Athletics features two notable evening events. At 17h55, Le Thi Cam Tu will compete in the women's 200m semifinals. Following that, at 18h35, Ho Trong Manh Hung will enter the men's triple jump final.

Earlier, from 6h, Vietnamese archery began with ranking events. Nguyen Minh Duc, Nguyen Hoang Phi Vu, and Nguyen Duy will compete in the men's recurve from approximately 6h to 9h30. During the same period, Le Thuy Phuong Nhi, Le Pham Ngoc Anh, and Nguyen Thi Thanh Thao will participate in the women's compound ranking.

Two more archery ranking events will take place at noon. From 10h30 to 14h, Loc Thi Dao, Trieu Huyen Diep, and Hoang Phuong Thao will compete in the women's recurve, while Dang Cong Duc, Tran Xuan Huong, and Nguyen Van Day will participate in the men's compound.

Shooting features the women's 50m rifle three positions qualification at 7h45 with Le Thi Mong Tuyen, Phi Thanh Thao, and Duong Ha My. If they qualify, Vietnamese athletes will compete in the final for this event at 12h.

In boxing, Ha Thi Linh will compete in the women's 60 kg category qualifiers at 10h30, facing an opponent from Uzbekistan.

On 25/9, Vietnam secured one additional bronze medal from canoeing. Since the start of ASIAD 2026, the delegation has earned one gold, one silver, and 16 bronze medals. The delegation ranks 21st on the medal table, dropping one position from the previous day. China continues to lead with 97 gold, 36 silver, and 24 bronze medals, while Japan is second with 27 gold, 42 silver, and 44 bronze medals.

25/9 also saw both Vietnamese national football teams exit in the quarterfinals. The women's team lost 0-1 to China after extra time, and the U23 men's team was defeated 0-4 by South Korea. Consequently, Vietnam's focus on 26/9 will shift to the remaining individual and team events.
