Following their 1-3 loss to Chile, coach Nguyen Trong Linh's team was determined to end the tournament with a win against Dominica in the 19th-20th place match.
This pressure initially affected their performance, allowing Dominica to take a 5-2 and then 7-4 lead in the first set. However, after encouragement from the coaching staff, outside hitter Pham Quynh Huong and her teammates tightened their game and improved their coordination. Vietnam then scored 11 consecutive points, turning the tables to lead 15-7. Quynh Huong served for 11 consecutive points during this run.

Dominica called two timeouts to disrupt Vietnam's momentum, but to no avail. With powerful spikes and tight blocking, Vietnam continued to accumulate points and won the set 25-19.
Vietnam maintained their dominance in the second set, consistently staying ahead. The 17-year-old outside hitter, Quynh Huong, continued to shine with her impressive spikes. With a height advantage of 1.9 m, she also scored several points directly from blocks. Vietnam won this set even faster, 25-17.
In the third set, Dominica played all-out to keep their hopes alive. Quynh Huong's performance dipped slightly, but Thuy Linh stepped up with well-placed tips. Vietnam then secured a 25-17 victory, sealed by three consecutive service aces from setter Khanh Huyen, concluding the match in just 66 minutes.

Vietnam finished their tournament run with six wins and two losses (against Argentina and Chile) out of eight matches played. However, due to a penalty for a player deemed "ineligible" by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), the team forfeited four wins and was relegated to the 17th-24th place bracket.
This was Vietnam's first appearance in the U21 Women's World Volleyball Championship. This year marked the 23rd edition of the tournament, and the first time the number of participating teams increased from 16 to 24, representing five continental confederations.
