Vietnam's U23 team will face Singapore tonight, 6/9, at Viet Tri Stadium, aiming for another three points to gain an advantage before the decisive match against Yemen in the 2026 U23 Asian Cup qualifiers.
In the first round of Group C, coach Kim Sang-sik's team defeated Bangladesh 2-0, while Yemen overcame Singapore 2-1. Singapore has a young squad, mainly U20 players, lacking experience and showing defensive vulnerabilities. However, coach Kim emphasized that Vietnam must not be complacent, especially since the attack squandered many chances in the opening match.

With the squad that recently won the U23 Southeast Asian Championship and the addition of striker Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Vietnam is considered the stronger team. The biggest limitation is the physical condition of the players under the hot weather, so coach Kim called on the fans to come to the stadium and support the team.
The 2026 U23 Asian Cup qualifiers take place from 3/9 to 9/9, selecting the 11 group winners, the four best runners-up, and host Saudi Arabia for the final tournament. Vietnam is currently unbeaten against Singapore at the U23 level for the past 12 years.
