Vietnamese athletics team prepares for SEA Games 33 gold hunt

The team is currently in an intensive training phase at the National Sports Training Center, focusing on improving speed and endurance in preparation for SEA Games 33.

These days, on the tracks, groups of Vietnamese athletics team athletes are increasing their workload with speed runs, sprints, and hurdle techniques. The training atmosphere is enthusiastic, with everyone aiming to improve performance and contend for medals in the regional competition.

At SEA Games 31, Vietnamese athletics won 22 gold medals, leading the region. By SEA Games 32, the team achieved only 12 gold medals, ceding the top spot to Thailand. Therefore, the goal for SEA Games 33 is to reassert Vietnam's position as a sporting powerhouse.

Nguyen Thi Oanh continues to be expected to lead the team. She holds 12 SEA Games gold medals across four consecutive editions, 39 national gold medals, and five records, making her one of the most accomplished athletes in Vietnamese athletics.

Meanwhile, Quach Thi Lan returns after a recovery period, aiming to regain form in her two signature events: 400m hurdles and 400m.

Young talents are also expected to make breakthroughs, including Huynh Thi My Tien in the 100m hurdles, Le Tien Long in the 3,000m steeplechase, and Hoang Thanh Giang in the middle and long-distance groups.

Accompanying the athletes during training sessions is Li-Ning apparel. For high-intensity exercisers, apparel must meet criteria for durability during continuous movement, rapid sweat-wicking, flexibility with intense movements, and maintaining stable body conditions throughout training.

According to Li-Ning, these specialized requirements make professional sports apparel a preferred choice for many athletes. Especially in events demanding speed, clothing must keep pace with the body during every sprint or jump.
