Vietnamese Esports community rallies behind TSW after LCP 2025 finals

Esports influencers and streamers believe TSW's loss to CFO is a stepping stone to the World Championship.

On the evening of 21/9, at the Tien Son Sports Palace (Da Nang), Team Secret Whales (TSW) faced CFO in the LCP 2025 grand finals after a convincing victory against PSG Talon. However, facing a seasoned and disciplined opponent, the Vietnamese representatives lost 0-3, missing out on the championship title. This was also the first time Vietnam hosted the largest League of Legends tournament in the Asia-Pacific region, attracting thousands of spectators.

After the match, prominent figures in the Vietnamese Esports community expressed their disappointment but maintained that TSW had achieved a commendable result. TK Nguyen, CEO and manager of GAM Esports, stated that TSW gave their all and had nothing to regret. He emphasized the importance of the players maintaining their spirits and persevering.

Former player Optimus admitted his disappointment at TSW's 3-0 loss. However, he viewed it as a valuable opportunity for the young team to strengthen their lineup and morale. "There's a long road ahead, the future awaits. The important thing is to stay healthy and focused for the World Championship," he advised.

The LCP Finals 2025 featured the top three teams from the eight competing in the Asia-Pacific League of Legends Championship. By reaching this stage, all three teams secured their spots in the World Championship in mid-October. Vietnam's sole representative is TSW, alongside two Taiwanese teams, CFO and PSG Talon.

Commentator Hoang Luan considered the result unsurprising given CFO's superior teamwork and synergy, but expressed regret that TSW couldn't secure a single win in the finals. He highlighted, "TSW will be the youngest team at the 2025 World Championship, and today's defeat will be a crucial step in their development."

Female streamers Ha Phuong Boo and Irena affirmed that TSW's victory over PSG to reach the grand finals was enough to make Vietnamese fans proud. "TSW performed exceptionally well, there's nothing to regret. We hope they'll quickly recover and continue to fight at the World Championship," they shared.
