Visa partners with Vietnam MLBB Championship Fall 2026

Visa becomes the title sponsor of VMC Fall 2026, supporting the national Mobile Legends: Bang Bang championship with payment incentives for the Vietnamese gaming community.

The Vietnam MLBB Championship Fall 2026 (VMC Fall 2026) began on 11/9, bringing together 6 teams to compete for the national championship title in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB). The tournament is organized by the Vietnam Electronic Sports and Entertainment Association (VIRESA) in collaboration with Funtap Games and FPT Online, with Visa serving as the title sponsor.

Through this partnership, Visa continues to expand its presence in the esports sector, ranging from international tournaments to national competition systems in Vietnam. Additionally, the brand is implementing a payment promotion program for players on the Funtap Payment Gateway platform.

From international tournaments to Vietnam's MLBB arena

In late 2025, Visa announced its partnership with Moonton Games, becoming the official payment partner for the M7 World Championship, the MLBB world championship. This marked the brand's first collaboration with the MLBB Esports system. During the tournament, Visa cardholders received certain benefits related to tickets and fan activities, including premium seating areas, behind-the-scenes tours, and meet-and-greets with players.

These collaborative efforts have been implemented in several Southeast Asian markets. In the Philippines, Visa partnered with GCash and MLBB to organize community engagement programs during the M7 World Championship, including fan watch parties. In Vietnam, Visa previously collaborated with EA to bring the FC Pro Festival to the gaming community in 2025. This event combined esports competitions, football, and interactive fan activities.

Becoming the title sponsor of VMC Fall 2026 continues these initiatives and marks Visa's involvement at the national championship level for MLBB in Vietnam. VMC is the national MLBB championship system, aiming to build a competitive environment and develop local athletes.

This autumn season features 6 participating teams: 4 teams with the best performance from VMC Spring 2026 and two representatives who advanced through the qualifiers. The tournament commenced on 11/9 and is currently in its online group stage, which runs until 27/9. Teams compete in a round-robin format with best-of-three (Bo3) matches to determine which representatives will advance to the Playoffs.

The Playoffs will be held online on 10-11/10, following a best-of-five (Bo5) format. The two finalists will then compete for the championship title in a best-of-seven (Bo7) series at the Grand Finals on 17/10, which will be held live at Aeon Mall Tan Phu Celadon, Ho Chi Minh City. The total prize pool for VMC Fall 2026 is 500 million VND. The champion team will receive 250 million VND and a slot to participate in the SEA Champion Tour. The runner-up will receive 90 million VND, while the teams ranked third and fourth will each receive 50 million VND. The remaining two teams will each receive 30 million VND.

Beyond the championship race, VMC aims to discover and evaluate potential players for the Vietnam MLBB national team. Athletes with outstanding achievements in the national competition system have the opportunity to be considered for selection to represent Vietnam in international arenas such as the SEA Games, Asian Games, and Olympic Esports.

Payment incentives for the gaming community

As part of VMC Fall 2026, Visa is launching a promotion program for users who pay with Visa cards on the Funtap Payment Gateway. From 20/9 to 18/10, users will receive a direct discount of 20,000 VND for top-up transactions of 50,000 VND or more, within the program's allocated budget. Cardholders can use Visa to pay for their own Funtap account or to top up another Funtap account. During the three days of 15-17/10, coinciding with the finals period, the program will offer a 50% discount on 100,000 VND and 200,000 VND top-up packages, subject to the allocated budget.

Through this program, players can use their Visa cards and receive incentives when making transactions on the Funtap platform. This activity adds a payment experience to the tournament support programs, alongside the brand's presence in media content, livestreams, and at the finals event.

Before VMC Fall 2026, Visa participated in fan community activities at VMC Winter 2025. In this year's season, the partnership has expanded with Visa taking on the role of title sponsor and offering a promotion program for players. Visa states that its involvement in esports aligns with its strategy to connect with users through digital entertainment and experiences. At VMC Fall 2026, this strategy is implemented by sponsoring the national MLBB tournament and providing payment incentives to the domestic gaming community.

The VMC Fall 2026 group stage will continue until 27/9, before the tournament proceeds to the Playoffs on 10-11/10 and the live Grand Finals on 17/10 in Ho Chi Minh City.
