According to Marca, the 28-year-old French midfielder has signed a 4-year contract with London City Lionesses. PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi personally negotiated the deal with Michele Kang, the owner of London City and leader of Lyon.
This is the first time a women's soccer transfer has reached 1.9 million USD. Forward Olivia Smith's move from Liverpool to Arsenal in July for 1.3 million USD previously held the record. Just a month later, Tigres (Mexico) received nearly 1.5 million USD for midfielder Lizbeth Ovalle's transfer to Orlando Pride.

Geyoro is the third player to break the transfer record this year, following Smith and Ovalle. Last year, Racheal Kundananji moved from Madrid CFF to Bay FC (USA) for 862,000 USD. Geyoro's transfer fee is more than double that amount.
Born in 1997 in DR Congo, Geyoro moved to France with her family as a child and joined PSG's academy at 15. She spent 13 years with the Parisian club, including 11 seasons with the first team. Geyoro's achievements include a national championship and three French Cups. She has been named to the French league's team of the year five times.
At the international level, she has played 103 matches for France, scoring 23 goals, and has been a key player in World Cups, Euros, and the Olympics. Geyoro is considered a versatile midfielder, effective in both defense and attack.
Founded in 2019, London City Lionesses recently joined the Women's Super League. The club has made a splash with significant investments, acquiring 16 new players, including notable names like Katie Zelem (former Man Utd captain), Danielle van de Donk (Lyon), and Nikita Parris (England national team). It is the only women's club in the league not affiliated with a men's team, choosing to build its own ambitions.
In men's soccer, transfer records around one or two million USD were set 50 years ago. In 1975, striker Giuseppe Savoldi broke the world record with his 1.6 million USD move from Bologna to Napoli. Neymar currently holds the record at 253 million USD for his transfer from Barca to PSG in the summer of 2017.
