Fadly Alberto Hengga, a young Indonesian footballer, has issued an apology for his actions during a recent U20 Indonesia football league match. "I apologize for the actions that have tarnished the reputation of the Indonesian national team," Fadly told CNN Indonesia. "I apologize for causing outrage among Indonesian fans."
The incident occurred on 19/4 during Bhayangkara FC's 1-2 loss to Dewa United. Many Bhayangkara FC members felt aggrieved, believing that Dewa United's second goal was scored from an offside position but was still allowed by the referee. Tensions escalated further after a foul led to a brawl between players and officials from both sides. Amidst the chaos, Fadly unexpectedly delivered a 'kungfu' style kick to the back of a Dewa United player, causing him to fall hard to the ground.
The 18-year-old player's violent behavior sparked widespread anger and was shared extensively across social media platforms in Indonesia.
Fadly had previously gained recognition for scoring the decisive goal that helped his team defeat Honduras 2-1 in the final group H match of the U17 World Cup 2025. This marked Indonesia's only victory in two appearances at the tournament. He had also been called up to the U20 national squad.
Despite being on the preliminary list for the upcoming national team training camp, Fadly's recent violent conduct makes his call-up unlikely. In addition to internal disciplinary action from Bhayangkara, Indonesian media suggests that the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) may ban Fadly from playing for several months. "I am ready to accept any punishment. I promise not to repeat such actions," Fadly stated.
Beyond the controversy surrounding Dewa United's second goal, Fadly Alberto explained that he was attempting to intervene when the altercation began. However, he claims he was attacked first and subjected to verbal abuse. "I was called a 'monster' and 'bastard,' which led to my frustration. I am not sure who said it, but I grabbed an opposing player," Fadly revealed.

Two other Bhayangkara players were also accused of violent conduct during the incident. Ahmad Catur Prasetyo reportedly attacked a Dewa United member who had raised his hands in surrender, while Aqilah Lissunnah Aljundi kicked a Dewa United player in the stomach.
Dewa United President Ardian Satya Negara expressed his disappointment with the events and announced that the club would pursue legal action to deter those involved.
Bhayangkara FC also released an official statement on their Instagram page last night. The club affirmed its zero-tolerance policy for any violent behavior and condemned all forms of provocation and racism. The team committed to enforcing an internal disciplinary process according to current regulations and ensuring that similar incidents do not recur.
"We are gathering evidence to submit to the authorities for professional and fair action," Bhayangkara's statement read. "We urge all parties to uphold sportsmanship and promote fair-play values in football."
