Eleven themed parks, memory museums, tourist piers, and cultural craft villages are set to transform the landscape along the Red River in the future.

Spanning approximately 11,400 hectares and stretching 80 km along both banks, the Red River landscape boulevard axis is planned as a central spatial corridor and a new driver for Hanoi's financial, economic, cultural, creative, and technological development.

In the early 20th century, the stretch of land along the Red River in Hanoi was largely undeveloped, primarily serving as a bustling boat dock with numerous vessels anchored.

Landslides along the left Thao dike embankment, part of the Red River system in Phong Chau ward, have caused ground subsidence and severe cracking, necessitating the urgent relocation of 11 households due to rapidly increasing safety risks.
