Northern Vietnam continues to see several days of thunderstorms due to a low-pressure trough and successive weak cold air masses, with temperatures dropping and no widespread heat expected for the rest of april.

Widespread thunderstorms on the morning of 17/4 caused flooding and damage in many northern provinces, with convective clouds continuing to move and possibly reaching Hanoi in the coming hours.

A weak cold front pressing down on a low-pressure trough will cause widespread thunderstorms in the Northern and North Central regions from the night of 16/4, with localized heavy rain, accompanied by whirlwinds, lightning, hail, and strong gusts.

On the night of 16/4, weak cold air from the north will move in, combining with wind convergence at 1,500 meters to cause widespread thunderstorms across the northern region and Thanh Hoa.

From this afternoon until tomorrow morning, residents in the northern region should prepare for whirlwinds, lightning, and hail as a weak cold air mass from the north moves in.

A cold air spell is forecast to bring thunderstorms to northern Vietnam, from Ha Tinh to eastern Gia Lai today and tomorrow, with nighttime temperatures dropping by 3-4 degrees Celsius.

Starting the morning of 9/3, a cold air mass is expected to sweep across northern Vietnam, dropping nighttime temperatures to 15-18 degrees C and bringing thunderstorms and strong gusts.
