The city clears over 400 trees along several roads from the city center to the northwestern gateway, making way for the construction of metro line two, Ben Thanh - Tham Luong section.

A 4-5 km stretch of trees growing along both sides of the Quan Truong river has caused a 590 billion VND river embankment project to be unable to undergo acceptance for years because it was not included in the initial design.
