National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man has called for food safety to be immediately placed under oversight in 2026, following the discovery of nearly 300 tons of diseased pork supplied to schools.

Le Thi Nga, standing vice chairwoman of the National Assembly’s Committee for Public Aspirations and Supervision, proposed that the government conduct a nationwide food safety inspection following the continuous discovery of numerous serious violations.
