The Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism reported these figures in its August report. Accommodation facilities served an estimated 1.9 million visitors, a 9.5% increase compared to the same period in 2024. International visitors reached an estimated 498,000, a 17.5% rise. Tourism revenue also improved by 12.9% year-on-year.
In the first 8 months of the year, the province welcomed over 12.8 million visitors, a 15.6% increase, reaching 81.5% of the 2025 plan. International visitors reached over 3.7 million, achieving 68% of the annual target. Total tourism revenue reached over 50,500 billion VND, up 17.8% year-on-year and meeting 76% of the 2025 plan. The August growth stems from various activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (2/9). Cultural programs, entertainment events, food festivals, and local specialty promotions were held across the province.
In sports, highlights included the Southeast Asian Taekwondo series and international club tournaments, attracting over 900 athletes and thousands of coaches, fans, and family members. There were also street football, kickboxing, and various provincial-level sports tournaments.
The VnExpress Marathon Libera Nha Trang 2025, held from 22/8 to 24/8, was a key event, drawing 13,000 runners and becoming the largest non-professional running event in the province. With its scenic coastal route and accompanying cultural and tourism experiences, the event left a positive impression on locals and domestic and international tourists.
Nguyen Van Hoa, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, said the event not only brought in tourists and revenue but also helped build the province’s image as a modern destination rich in experiences. It has contributed to changing tourism habits, with many people choosing Khanh Hoa not just for relaxation but also for large-scale, professional sporting events.

Tourism officials added that in August, they collaborated with associations and service businesses to prepare for increased tourism: improving product quality, introducing new tours, reviewing accommodation facilities, publicizing prices, and ensuring security, traffic, and environmental sanitation. The province has added new cultural tourism products. One example is the Chum Show at the Do Theater - Libera Nha Trang, alongside the popular Roi Mo show. Many tourist destinations are using technology such as digital maps and virtual assistants to enhance visitor interaction.
Russia, China, and South Korea remain the key international markets, with direct flights to Cam Ranh boosting tourism.
In the final months of the year, Khanh Hoa's tourism sector plans to organize tourism promotion events and connect with foreign markets. The province opened the "Mysterious Ocean" exhibition at the Hon Chong Institute of Oceanography (currently free until 15/9) and will launch several live-action shows.
Tourism is one of Khanh Hoa’s four economic pillars, specified in Resolution 1, announced in 7/2025 after merging with Ninh Thuan. The goal by 2030 is to welcome 20.5 million visitors, with over 50% being international; to have 100,000 tourist accommodation rooms; and to create jobs for 300,000 direct employees. The tourism sector is expected to contribute 15% to GRDP and 20% to budget revenue.
