According to the "Cheapest Destinations 2026" report, published on 22/1, Phu Quoc is Vietnam's sole representative among destinations offering the most reasonable economy round-trip airfares for 2026.

Phu Quoc's inclusion among destinations with competitive flight costs, alongside established beach tourism spots like Phuket (Thailand), Manila (Philippines), and Denpasar (Indonesia), indicates the Pearl Island is improving its regional and international air accessibility.
Beyond its appearance in the cost ranking, Phu Quoc also features among next year's trending destinations.
According to Skyscanner's "Trending Destinations 2026" report, Phu Quoc ranks second globally for flight search growth, achieving 184% compared to the previous year. Skyscanner identifies Phu Quoc as ideal for relaxing getaways due to its natural landscapes, beaches, and tranquil environment.

Tourism experts suggest these results reflect the impact of visa policy and transportation infrastructure. Phu Quoc is currently Vietnam's only locality offering a 30-day visa exemption for international visitors. Furthermore, the island's domestic and international flight network continues to expand, enhancing accessibility for foreign tourists.
In 2025, Phu Quoc welcomed approximately 8,3 million visitors, exceeding its target by 18%. International visitors reached nearly 1,9 million, almost doubling year-on-year. This growth continued into the first month of 2026, with the number of international flights to Phu Quoc airport increasing by about 40% compared to the same period last year.
Phu Quoc's consistent presence in Skyscanner's reputable rankings demonstrates that it is not merely benefiting from trends, but is building a sustainable competitive advantage based on reasonable access costs and an increasingly comprehensive experience ecosystem. The island is gaining popularity among international visitors due to unique experiences like the sea-crossing cable car, fireworks displays twice nightly in the southern district, and the iconic Kiss Bridge.
As airfares become "an open door" to attract global tourists, and experiences become the reason for their return, Phu Quoc is steadily positioning itself as one of the world's most notable beach destinations for 2026.
