Recently, authorities reported frequent gatherings of motorbike taxi drivers and staff from food and beverage establishments at key intersections, such as the Xuan Son Ferry Market crossroads and the Ho Chi Minh Road junction leading to the Phong Nha - Ke Bang Tourist Area. Upon spotting tourist cars, these individuals drive motorbikes at high speeds, swerving and tailing vehicles, distributing flyers, and soliciting for food and accommodation.
Phan Hai Ha, chairman of Phong Nha commune, stated that the aggressive driving to solicit and compete for customers not only violates urban order but also breaks the law. This behavior affects traffic safety and Phong Nha's international tourism brand.
"This harassment creates an unpleasant experience for tourists", he said, adding that the encroachment on roadways and sidewalks, unauthorized display of goods, and illegal placement of advertising signs are also recurring in the commune's central area.

The Phong Nha People's Committee also held direct meetings with businesses along the Xuan Son Ferry Market crossroads, requiring them to sign commitments. These commitments ensure they will not allow staff or related individuals to drive motorbikes to solicit customers, nor encroach on roadways or sidewalks for business. They must also strictly comply with urban order and traffic regulations.
Local authorities stated they will patrol, inspect, and strictly penalize violations to build a civilized, safe, and friendly tourism environment.
