"This year marks 30 years of US-Vietnam diplomatic relations, three decades of enduring friendship and cooperation. Agricultural cooperation is a cornerstone of our relationship," US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper said at the "From America's Bountiful Farms" event in Hanoi on 23/7.
The event, part of a campaign showcasing over 80 products from traditional American farms, runs from 23/7 to 6/8. Vietnamese consumers can experience American food and shopping through promotions, product sampling, and American-style cooking demonstrations.
Knapper stated that the US is proud to offer high-quality, safe, and nutritious products to Vietnamese consumers. He believes that US products, with their stable supply and commitment to sustainable development, contribute positively to the bilateral relationship.

Ambassador Knapper pointed out the two countries' close cooperation on customs and sustainable agriculture, citing the Vietnam Fertilizer Efficient Use Project.
Launched in 2024, the four-year, US-funded Vietnam Fertilizer Efficient Use Project has a budget of 4.4 million USD. The project aims to improve fertilizer efficiency, increase farmer incomes, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from rice cultivation.
Asked about the advantages of US agricultural exports to Vietnam, Knapper highlighted the "world's highest quality, great taste, and traceability," allowing consumers to know the origin of their food. "These are standards that consumers value," he emphasized.
According to the ambassador, Vietnam is currently the 9th largest export market for US agricultural products, while the US is Vietnam's largest. Last year, US consumer-oriented agricultural exports to Vietnam reached a record 1.1 billion USD.
In June, a delegation led by Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Do Duc Duy met with the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) in Washington, with several leading agricultural corporations in attendance.
Eight agreements totaling 1.1 billion USD were signed, including commitments to import corn, wheat, soybean meal, processed foods, and wood. Combined with earlier memorandums of understanding signed in Iowa, Ohio, and Maryland, Vietnam's total purchase of US agricultural products reached nearly 3 billion USD.
