During his freshman year, Trump's youngest son lived at Trump Tower in Manhattan, New York City, about a 20-minute drive from the university's main campus. Last week, he attracted attention for not appearing at school before the start of the new semester.
First Lady Melania Trump spent much of her time in New York to be close to Barron during his first year of college. US media expect her to be more actively involved in activities during her husband's second term now that their son has moved into the White House.
Barron made several public appearances during his father's 2024 campaign but has rarely visited the White House since his father took office in January. After completing his freshman year, Barron spent the summer at family properties, planning for his future business career.
When asked about Barron's aptitudes in March, Trump revealed, "Business." He praised his youngest son as "smart" and "good with technology," while also mentioning his other children.
"All my children are very smart, they have studied well at high-quality schools, and they always work hard. Barron is extremely smart, as are Eric, Don, Ivanka, and Tiffany. I am extremely lucky. Having good, capable children also requires an element of luck," he said. "My children always strive, love the country, and are proud of their father. We are very close."
