US Vice President JD Vance, his wife, and two children vacationed in California last weekend and visited Disneyland in Anaheim. Hundreds of people gathered outside the park to protest the vice president's presence.
"Vice President Vance came to California. He didn't spend time debating and fighting against Medicaid cuts, school children's meals, the militarization of American streets, or trillions of dollars in added national debt. Instead, he went to Disneyland," California Governor Gavin Newsom posted on X on 13/7.
Newsom repeatedly criticized Vance during the trip. "I hope he enjoyed his time with his family. The families he's dividing certainly aren't," the governor said.

Vance dismissed the criticism. "I had a great time, thank you," he posted on X.
The Trump administration last month deployed the National Guard and Marines to California to respond to protests against the crackdown on illegal immigration. On 11/6, Newsom welcomed a court decision to block the enforcement of the Trump administration's immigration law in some counties in the state.
This isn't the first time the vice president and the California governor have clashed online.
President Trump last month told reporters that Newsom should be arrested.
Newsom responded by posting on X that the president had just called for the arrest of a sitting governor. "I hope to never see anything like that in America. It doesn't matter if you're a Democrat or a Republican, this is a line our country must not cross," he said.
"Do your job. That's all we ask," Vice President Vance replied.
