The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution, adopted on 11/3 with 13 votes in favor and two abstentions, "demands an immediate cessation of all Iranian attacks against Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Jordan".
The resolution also "condemns all actions or threats by Tehran aimed at closing, obstructing, or interfering with international maritime navigation through the Strait of Hormuz".

Bahrain, supported by 135 nations, submitted the resolution. Jamal Fares Alrowaiei, Bahrain's ambassador to the UN, stated that the adoption of the text reflects the Gulf Region's pivotal role in the global economy.
"This is why ensuring the security of this region is not merely a regional issue, but a shared international responsibility closely linked to global economic stability and energy security", Alrowaiei told the UNSC.
The US, a supporter of the resolution, believes that the adoption of the text reflects widespread condemnation of Iran's attacks.
"Iran's strategy is to sow chaos, attempting to turn its neighbors into 'hostages'. The intention to undermine regional resolve has clearly backfired. Today's vote demonstrates that", US Ambassador Mike Waltz asserted.

The resolution reportedly focuses solely on Iran and its actions, without mentioning the US or Israel in the text. China and Russia, who abstained, expressed dissatisfaction that the text did not acknowledge US-Israel hostility towards Iran.
Iran's ambassador to the UN, Saeid Iravani, stated that the adoption of the resolution represents a "blatant abuse" of the Security Council's mission to pursue the political agendas of the US and Israel.
"I affirm that the resolution is a clear injustice to our nation, which is the primary victim of overt aggression", Iravani said.

After the US and Israel launched a coordinated attack on Iran on 28/2, killing Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several high-ranking officials, Tehran retaliated against numerous enemy targets. The nation also carried out attacks on US facilities in various Middle Eastern countries.
