Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung, envoy of General Secretary and President To Lam, visited Cuba from 20-22/6. The purpose of the visit, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was to inform the Communist Party of Cuba about the results of the 14th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and discuss cooperation between the two Parties and countries.
During his visit, the envoy of the General Secretary and President commended Cuba's comprehensive transformation measures, particularly in the economic sector, which were approved by the extraordinary session of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and the Cuban National Assembly.

Cuban leaders stated that the visit underscored the special trust and close comradely ties between the two Parties, countries, and peoples. They viewed it as a significant event given the current international and regional situation.
Cuban leaders expressed their ongoing commitment to fostering comprehensive cooperation across all sectors, aiming for new and important results that serve the mutual interests of the two peoples.
President Miguel Diaz-Canel and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz emphasized that Vietnam's important lessons, both in theory and practice, gleaned over 40 years of reform, are highly valuable for Cuba to consider in its process of implementing comprehensive transformation measures.
Cuban leaders also praised the outcomes of cooperation between the two countries in recent times, especially in agriculture and fisheries. Both sides agreed to continue promoting high-level delegation exchanges and cooperation between relevant agencies.

During his trip, Minister Le Hoai Trung laid wreaths at the monument to Cuban national hero Jose Marti and the President Ho Chi Minh monument in La Habana. He also met with the Vietnamese community and the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba, and visited agricultural, rice, and essential goods production projects undertaken by Vietnamese enterprises in Cuba.
