Cuba considers Vietnam's important lessons from 40 years of reform highly valuable for reference when implementing comprehensive transformation measures.

Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung, envoy of General Secretary and President To Lam, visited Cuba from 20-22/6. The purpose of the visit, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was to inform the Communist Party of Cuba about the results of the 14th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and discuss cooperation between the two Parties and countries.

During his visit, the envoy of the General Secretary and President commended Cuba's comprehensive transformation measures, particularly in the economic sector, which were approved by the extraordinary session of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and the Cuban National Assembly.

President Miguel Diaz-Canel and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz emphasized that Vietnam's important lessons, both in theory and practice, gleaned over 40 years of reform, are highly valuable for Cuba to consider in its process of implementing comprehensive transformation measures.

Cuban leaders also praised the outcomes of cooperation between the two countries in recent times, especially in agriculture and fisheries. Both sides agreed to continue promoting high-level delegation exchanges and cooperation between relevant agencies.
