"I thought they were just friendly, like people who would meet each other at social gatherings. I don't think they were close friends, or I never witnessed any closeness between them; I don't recall ever seeing the President at Epstein's house," Maxwell's testimony, released by the US Department of Justice on 22/8, stated.
Maxwell, accomplice and former girlfriend of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, asserted she never saw President Trump "in any inappropriate situation" or behaving improperly with anyone. "In all my encounters, he was always a complete gentleman," Maxwell said.

The testimony was given during Maxwell's interviews with US Department of Justice officials on 24/7 and 25/7. Both the transcript and audio recordings of the interviews have been released.
Maxwell, 63, was sentenced in 2022 by a New York federal court to 20 years in prison for her role in a sex trafficking ring involving underage girls along with Epstein.
Maxwell reportedly offered to testify before Congress about Epstein in exchange for immunity and apparently sought a pardon from President Trump. However, Trump stated he had no intention of pardoning Maxwell.
