Photos of President Emmanuel Macron surfing while vacationing with the first lady at Fort de Bregancon in southern France earlier this month have been widely shared on social media. Many expressed delight at his new look, a departure from the usual serious demeanor he displays in a suit.
French magazine Voici featured President Macron in a wetsuit, hydrofoiling on its cover last week, with the comment, "What a handsome 'grandpa'".
American magazine TMZ also commented on the French president's physique, describing him as having a "political muscle flex".
"President Macron appears to be a regular at the gym, as he showed off his muscles in a wetsuit, as well as his six-pack abs," the article stated.

First Lady Brigitte Macron was also seen on a jet ski with a grandchild, alongside Macron as he surfed.
The photos were taken earlier this month at Fort de Bregançon, the French president's summer residence. It's a medieval fortress and has been the official retreat for French leaders since 1968.
The fortress is situated on a rocky island about 30 meters above sea level near the Mediterranean.

During his vacation, in addition to surfing and sightseeing, President Macron continued to address domestic and international affairs. On 17/8, he met with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz to discuss the next stage in the Ukraine peace process.
The three leaders are part of the European delegation, along with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, traveling to Washington to meet with US President Donald Trump on 18/8.
