At Cambodia's request, General Secretary To Lam held a phone call this afternoon with Cambodian People's Party President Hun Sen, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The General Secretary and the Cambodian People's Party President discussed regional and international situations, relations between the two parties and countries, and other topics of mutual interest. They reviewed past cooperation, agreed on key directions, and aimed to deepen cooperation between the two parties and countries.
The General Secretary welcomed the progress made by Cambodia and Thailand regarding their border issue.

The two leaders expressed their pleasure with the important results achieved at the high-level meeting between the two parties and the high-level meeting between the three leaders of the Vietnamese, Cambodian, and Lao parties in 2/2025. They agreed to continue strengthening party and state-level relations, consolidating political trust, continuing to share timely information, and consulting each other on international and regional issues, as well as matters related to the two countries.
President Hun Sen announced his attendance at the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day and praised the significance of the event. He believes Vietnam will continue to develop, enter a new era, and achieve its two centennial goals.
Regarding the international and regional situation, the two leaders exchanged and shared views on issues of mutual concern. The General Secretary emphasized that disputes should be resolved peacefully, in accordance with international law and practices, and promoting ASEAN's central role, for peace, stability, cooperation, and prosperity in the region and the world.
