General Secretary To Lam's visit to Cambodia is scheduled for 6/2, according to an announcement today from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On the same day, General Secretary To Lam will co-chair a high-level meeting between the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP). Vietnam and Cambodia established diplomatic relations on 24/6/1967. Vietnam is currently Cambodia's third largest trading partner, after China and the US, and its largest trading partner within ASEAN. Bilateral trade turnover reached 11,33 billion USD in 2025, an increase of 11,7% compared to 2024.

Vietnam is currently among the top 5 largest foreign direct investors in Cambodia, after China, South Korea, Singapore, and Japan. Vietnam has 229 active investment projects in Cambodia, with a total registered capital of approximately 2,94 billion USD.

Beyond trade and investment, the two nations also maintain cooperation in defense-security, education, transport, culture, and telecommunications. Vietnam and Cambodia also coordinate closely in international and regional forums such as the United Nations, ASEAN, and the Mekong sub-regional cooperation mechanism.
