Iranian deputy foreign minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi said on 29/6 that the US had signaled its desire to resume nuclear talks, a week after Washington attacked three of Tehran's nuclear facilities. However, Iran has not yet agreed to the idea.
"We have not agreed on the time or method. We are also seeking an answer to this question: is it possible that we could witness another attack while in dialogue?", Takht-Ravanchi said, asserting that the US needs to be "clear about this very important question".

The Iranian deputy foreign minister added that the US had signaled it did not want to be involved in regime change in Iran by targeting Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. He also said his country should still be allowed to enrich uranium.
"The level and capacity of uranium enrichment can be discussed. But it's the law of the jungle to say that we should not enrich uranium and will be bombed if we disagree," Takht-Ravanchi said.
When asked how long it would take Iran to resume its uranium enrichment program, Takht-Ravanchi said he could not yet estimate.
However, US President Donald Trump declared the same day that he had not proposed anything, nor had he contacted Iran, due to having "completely destroyed" the country's nuclear facilities.
The Israel-Iran conflict erupted after Tel Aviv accused Tehran of being close to producing a nuclear bomb, which Iran denies, and launched a pre-emptive airstrike campaign. Iran has also repeatedly launched missiles in retaliation against Israel.
The US subsequently joined the conflict directly, bombing three Iranian nuclear facilities, claiming to have set back the country's nuclear program by years and forcing Tehran to the negotiating table. However, the extent of the damage from the US airstrikes is disputed, with many opinions, even from within the US intelligence community, assessing that the Iranian nuclear program has only been delayed by a few months.
